Our maiden voyage/adventure.....

We bought a 1985 21' Sunline travel trailer just a few weeks ago. For being 22 years old this camper has stood the test of time and is in GREAT shape. Everything is orignal on it. They curtains, the cushions etc. All in excellent condition. When we brought it home we tested out all systems and found only the furnance to be having some issues. (We had someone look at it and found that the one valve is a little faulty and that is why we can not get it to go on the first try everytime.

So my husband and I loaded up the camper and took the 3 hour drive to my family's camp. All went well (except the dog getting a little car sick) on the way out.

We got all set up. Lit the furance, it only took one try! First night it got cold, very cold, but we were all snug as a bug. The camper was so warm and cozy! I was loving not having to make the trek to the outhouse anymore but sitting instead in my warm bathroom

Everything was going great then..... it happen.... We were all sitting around the campfire. My husband was in using the restroom when my brother noticed a drip. Our black tank was dripping! We had a small hole in it.

We had tested out all the systems when we had first brought the camper home and was suprised to see the drip. Needless to say we had to use the outhouse the rest of the stay. We brought the camper home and have completely flushed out the systems and have found the 'problem' areas. We are planning to address them in the next week or so.

Overall: good trip.
Hey the camper is 22 years old. There was bound to be something.
On the to do list: get black tank fixed. Plan next trip
I love my SUNLINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the Sunline Club,

Glad you had a great first trip. A tank drip can happen to any brand, and should be a fairly easy fix. I had to fix one once (self-inflickted major damage )

My best friend has a 1982 and it's all original except for the curtains, which were replaced before he bought it. It's a wonderful little T-1550, and like yours, all systems work. I don't recall ever reading any posts about other brands of early 1980 travel trailers still performing as well as our beloved Sunlines. Those of us that own Sunlines "KNOW" we have very special COACHES.

Kitty
