Our 1st Week in Yellowstone

Cindy and I are working in Yellowstone this summer for the sole reason that we'd be able to have the 2.2 million acres at our beck and call to photograph. Not a bad trade off for a few days a week of work that will put fuel money in our pocket come fall.

So far, our first week has been a photographers dream. We've seen and photographed every animal except a Grizzly, a Moose and Wolves. We've seen both the wolves and a Grizzly, but they were too far off to get any decent shots of so we just sat glassing them through scopes and binoculars, probably one of the best way to see wildlife in the park!

So here is what we've captured in the first week.
1.
Baby Bighorn Sheep nibbling on some appetizers

2.
The Daddy Bighorn Ram yelling at the camera

3.
Vixen drinking out of a pond

4.
Great Horned Owl Fledgling near the Mammoth Visitor Center

5.
Bull Elk sitting on the edge of the forest

6.
Coyote in hot pursuit to cross the road near Madison

Full Gallery can be seen here if you'd like to see lots more

Thanks for looking

Pat and Cindy, after years of travel and thousands of photos I'm just blown away by the quality of yours. Just looked at all 66 and any could be in some of the various magazines I read. I know one of the secrets is to take lots of photos and then select the best, but you don't get that many chances with photos of animals. Keep 'em coming.

WOW!!!! Very cool. I second HenryJ's comments and also looked at all 66 of them.... Keep em coming. The focus, depth of field and stoped action is breathtaking.

Thanks for sharing

John

Yellowstone is a wonderful place, I've been there. Your pics are so professional looking. Definitely magazine and calendar quality.

Emam......

C'mon! This is pure torture! Last year's shots of Monument Valley so affected us that we're leaving for Monument Valley (at last!) in about 2 weeks....after a necessary 1/2 year wait.

Now you're starting with Yellowstone? And we can't schedule that this year, either! SADISM, that's what it is!

(Fantastic shots...hope you're fully enjoying your workcamping stay).

Pat & Cindy,

Awesome pictures! Couldn't check out the link though; dial-up is such a downer! You two are definately living a dream. Hope we all get to see you again at another M/G someday, just hear some of your stories!

Safe travels!

Loved the pix. Brings back memories of our best vacation ever - Yellowstone and Grand Tetons for our daughter's high school graduation trip. Rob and I are also thinking of working at Yellowstone in a few years. We will talk to you about your experience closer to the time.
