Newest OSB Nightmare

These new stairs are making the rounds as the latest death trap for Firefighters!! I know our collective feelings about OSB in trailer floors and I thought some of you might be interested in the $#$&* the building industry wants to put in new buildings:

THE I-STAIR – A NEW BUILDING CONSTRUCTION HAZARD | Green Maltese

Here is the results of the great, so called lightweight construction in our area. These fires were a month apart, in the same complex:

Fire in Seven Oaks - Odenton-Severn, MD Patch

Fire Hits Seven Oaks Apartments Again - Odenton-Severn, MD Patch

The second one started as a mulch fire from a disgarded cigarette!! Vinyl Siding on OSB sheathing, with Ply-I (two 2x4's with a piece of OSB in the center to form a wooden I-beam) truss floors, truss roofs and no sprinklers!!!

Wow what were they thinking? Or should I say were they thinking at all. I can't believe any one thought that stuff would make good stairs.
