New to Sunline

Hey, Ted and I are new to Sunline, we now are the proud owners of a 1994 T2653. We have a few questions that maybe someone can help us with? We attached the water hose and turned on the faucets, the bathroom is fine. The kitchen cold is fine, the hot water side of the kitchen was only trickling out. The more we run it the better it is getting but still not a good flow. Any ideas?
We are getting ready to clean the roof and put some kind of conditioner on it. The other question: What is the best type of caulking to use around the vents on the roof? and any advice on conditioning the roof.
As soon as we get it cleaned up and ready to show, we will add some pics.
Thanks for any info you can provide.
Sue

First off, welcome to SOC!

As far as caulking goes, the general consensus here is to use Dicor sealant on the roof. JohnB did an excellant post on changing roof vents and you can find out about the proper use of Dicor HERE...

Kanyonkitty posted a great article on roof care HERE...

As far as the hot water issue, you may want to see if your water heater has a winterization bypass. If it does, you'll need to turn off the bypass. Check your water heater and do as Steve Collins says HERE...

Again, welcome!

Gary

Gary, now you have me blushing...

As far as I know, any trailer older than mine would have the two valve HW bypass if it is factory installed. (It is possible that it may have been modified to the newer one valve type of by-pass, but that would have been done by an owner, and not Sunline.)

Also keep in mind that the lower valve on mine is kinda hidden and is a bit harder to turn.

What can happen is that one or both of the valves does not get flipped completely and is only partially open/closed. Working them back and forth a couple of times should loosen them up just enough to be all the way open or closed.

On the roof, it's important to know if you have a rubber roof or metal one. Care and maintenance differs as do the caulks and sealants used.

Wow! This is great, thanks for all the info. I have just revised the "honey do" list to include what we have learned here. Thanks again for all the info.
Who know that there was such a thing as this forum when we got the camper, reading all the posts has inspired us. Maybe we can get out there soon and meet some of you!
