Memorial Weekend camping trip

We spent the weekend at Fish Creek Pond state CG in the Adirondacks with our 2 grandchildren and had a great time with them. There are 355 sites all around the ponds, about a 5 mile loop, and while riding the bikes around we counted 12 Sunlines (including ours). The CG was only about half full so that was a pretty good ratio, considering there were a fair amount of tents also. It was great seeing that many Sunlines at one CG this past weekend.

Mike

Mike, we spent the weekend at Pioneer Campground in north central PA (Sullivan County). There are 90 sites, but less than half were occupied this weekend: Up until two years ago, it would have been filled. I guess the higher gasoline prices are having a negative effect on attendance. There were at least a half dozen Sunlines present.

This was our maiden voyage in our new 2553. We picked it up last fall (Black Friday) and this was our first opportunity to use it. The family on the site beside ours had a two year old 2553, so we spent a lot of time comparing notes with them. As you might expect, we encountered no problems. I was easily spoiled by the newer features on this Sunline.

That's just amazing to me. We still have yet to see a Sunline on the road!!?? The last one we saw was 3 months ago in Alabama, and it was a 5-er!!

Other than that, we had seen two in the same campground in West Florida, and none since? I guess the South is empty of Sunlines. Especially since I hear of you all talking of them like they're chipmunks along the East Coast.

We live in Mississippi and we camp mostly in Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. Once in a blue moon we'll run across a Sunline, but the most popular brands in our area seem to be Jayco and Fleetwood products which are both sold locally. We've owned a couple of Jayco pop-ups and a pretty nice fifth wheel, but they just can't compare to the quality of our Sunline.

We will be up there for 10 days starting on June 11th, Site 147. Anybody in the neighborhood, stop by for a cup of coffee!

As you say, a lot of Sunlines to be found throughout the Aidrondack campgrounds.

As I posted on another link - we went to a private campout over the weekend - near Saratoga Springs, NY - there where about 100 trailers, from small motorcycle pull behinds to one huge motor home, as Leo and I walked around we found 6 Sunlines, of which 3 were camped with us!

Well those 6 people know good quality!

We spent the weekend at my brother's house in Berryville, VA, and managed to see Sunlines while not even being in a campground. We must be Sunline magnets There was one parked in someone's driveway near Winchester, VA. On I81 we saw 3 on our way south (which means they were going north) - 1 was a beautiful new one with a slide. On the way home we only saw 1. It was heading south on 81, a nice looking 2499 being towed by a blue truck. We also saw 2 T@bs, which I'd never seen on the road before. I81 is a terrific place to trailer watch

We camped in the Adirondacks in New York on the Sacanadaga river and saw only one other Sunline in a campsite of about 200 which was unusual. By far the most common unit was Jayco models. The trend must be inexpensive and light which translates into lesser quality lighter materials and less amenities. Not all together a bad thing but I do prefer the quality of materials in the Sunline. This was our second time out in our Sunline and we just love the unit. We have lots of plans this summer. Quetse: We had a T@B for 3 seasons and only saw two others in that whole time.
