Smile Looking for advice

I stumbled upon this site quite by accident. Next spring I want to buy a travel trailer than can be safely pulled by an SUV. Nothing longer than 22 to 24 feet with a combined weight (fully loaded) of no more than 6,000 pounds. A slide is optional, but not necessary. One person. No pets. I am open to any and all sugggestions. I will be living in it full-time and traveling.

Thank you so much.

When we owned our '98 Sunline Solaris 2475 we pulled it everywhere with an Explorer with V8. I think that would be a great one-person trailer for full time. the Idaho and Montana mountains made the Explorer grunt but it made it everywhere we wanted to go.

Hi rrwayne, welcome to the forum.

I have a T2363 and think is is just perfect for DW and myself. Length is 24', GVWR 5500#.

Another popular model here is the T-1950 which is a bit smaller and lighter.

Thank you so much. Am I correct in assuming that Sunline TTs are no longer being manufactured? I am fine with buying an orphan.

Yes, Sunline is no longer in business.
However, you'll find that the folks here are so pleased with the quality of the Sunline, that they often buy 2nd or 3rd Sunline trailers. They even buy Sunnies that are 10 years old.

We had the 2475 and wanted a bit bigger and had selected the 276SR. That was the sumer of '06. We toured the factory in the spring of '06 and were quite impressed. When we heard they had closed their doors we started a mad search for a 276 SR with the options we wanted. Found one in Palmyra Pa and made the deal over the phone pending our inspection. The next week we drove from Missouri to Pa. to pick it up. bought it with no warranty on the box but all appliances etc had the factory warranty. Love it and have had no problems. Lived in it full time in New Mexico desert for 18 months in '08 and 09. It has been over the Colorado mountains to Yellowstone, Big Horn mountains of Wyoming, South Dakota, Texas, Louisiania, Arkansas......with no problems.

This weekend returning from a weekend in Iowa something shattered the refrigerator vent cap on the roof. I got another one today and had it installed in less than a half hour.

It will return to Pa. next week for a family reunion, then to Ohio for a family wedding then back home to Missouri.

I can't say enough good things about our Sunlines. We sold the '98 2475 last year and the new owners have been quite happy.

Sometimes even older than that! The quality is just there. As with anything, proper maintenance is the key!

If you can tow it the 2363 is a nice model. It has alot of storage space, and you really feel like you have 2 separate rooms - living and bedrooms. If you want to go smaller the 1950 is also nice, but more open. One person would be fine in a 1950 though, and might be the better choice for towing with an SUV.

Smaller campers let you fit into smaller camping spots. Its something to consider since you will be camping alone.

Thanks, David.

I am leaning in that direction. I like the idea of smaller and pulling with a good SUV like a Chevy Tahoe or Ford Explorer.
