Light Bulb replacement

Hello and happy camping .... Lucky Sunny Fans;
am sure I saw this answered a long time ago...last Jan. I think. We need to replace the light bulb that lights the right side on our 2004 2499. We removed the amber lens and it appears to be a halogen bulb but the number is missing. We leave on Aug 6th for a long trip and one of our first stops is General RV where we bought the TT. If we knew the bulbs needed we would buy a couple for each different location. If we can find them at a better price in Canada we will pick them up before we leave.
Thank you for your kind help
Ted

See if this helps any. I was going to doctor this up in a post better with pic's of all the bulbs as many of the newer TT's I'm sure use the same bulbs, but never made it that far. I just went out and wrote them all down so I could buy spares.

But, this is what is in my 2004 T2499

2004 T2499 Sunline Solaris Light Bulbs

Note: The "colors" listed are the plastic lens covers, not the actual bulb. All bulbs are clear or white frosted in my list.

(Qty.) - Bulb Number, Description

TT Exterior
(4) - C194, Clearance Markers “Amber” – TT Body Lights
(1) - C922, Front “Clear” outdoor hitch light over propane tanks
(1) - C922, Left side “Clear” outdoor light
(7) – C194, Rear “Red” body lights
(2) – CEC 1157, Rear Stop Light –Directional – Dual element “Red”
(1) – C922 , Right side “amber” outdoor bug light
(2) –C921, Cargo hole dome lights

TT Interior
(13) – C921, TT Interior dome lighting
(4) – 1383, Spot reading lamp – 2 prong side locking
(1) – 912, Range Hood – Sticker says 912 but bulb was CEC 906
(1) – 7576, Fridge light – halogen
(1) - ??, Microwave – Dometic Mod CDMW125 Ser no. 311TA00496

Your outside yellow bug light just above the fridge vent cover is a C922

Hope this helps and happy camping.

John

Light covers

I have a 1982 SunLine 15.5 SB and would like to buy a couple of covers for the running(?) lights. Does anyone know where I could buy some?

Thank you,

Norm Milliard

Norm,

In your case, I think you're better off just getting the whole new fixture. I replaced all the clearance lights on my 1550 (I had a couple lenses break). I replaced the whole fixture because the contacts on the old ones were getting wore out and rusty. Also, the plastic gets brittle and doesn't hold the lens on very well. I got mine at the local dealer and you should be able to do the same.

Are these the lights you have? These were the ones I had on my 1550.

Light covers and corroded contacts

Thank you for your response. To eliminate the corroded contact problem I have replaced my bulbs with hard wired LEDs. My concept was that LEDs hardly ever fail so I just soldered them in. In the process I found two cracked covers. Did you throw out your old covers? If not I would be happy to buy a couple.

Again thank you.

Norm

Norm,

I do have the old lights but most if not all of the lenses broke in the process of taking them off. I thought about leaving the bag of lights with the trailer when I sold it, but I decided against that when I had to come down in my price. The reason why I replaced all the lights is when I first brought it home, I washed the trailer and the wash brush touched one and it cracked and fell off. It would be more worth your money to get new locally. If you can't find them locally, contact General RV in MI (www.generalrv.com) and I know they have them on their website. They can probably ship them out to you.

Thank you for the info. Earlier this morning I found the lens caps at RVShop.com and ordered replacements for those that are cracked. Corroded contacts are a problem in these older rigs. Mine, besides being 25 years old, had not be used in 6 years. I had to replace the primary ground connections and the trailer's connector as well.

Again thank you for your info, I'm always looking for sources for RV parts.

Norm, consider pulling one of the fixtures and taking it to your local auto parts store. Believe it or not, they carry or can get almost anything in the way of automotive lighting products, and the marker lights on all of our TT's are industry standard stuff. Even some the older styles are still available.

I did check on LED replacements, and both the 194 and 921/922 bulbs are now available in LED versions. I even saw the 194's in a two pack on the shelf at Advance Auto for $6.95 a couple of weeks ago. A little pricey, but then they will probably never fail after installation.

There are also some new style marker lights available with LED's in them on the shelf now. If anyone's older marker lights are in bad shape, it might be worth consideration.
