Insurance Value

My agent wants to know what the value of my 2003 Solaris 2553 was when it was new.

Anyone have any idea how to get that value?

Sunline Fan is an unknown quantity at this point
Mark,

I think the MSRP was somewhere around 17-20k, but that's a very rough estimate. There is a book at the RV/MH Hall of Fame library in Elkhart, Indiana that lists all the original MSRP's (base price, no options). I don't remember the name of the book, so I can't tell you where to find it. The best deal is to talk to your nearest Sunline dealer and see if they remember 2003 pricing.

Jon

Sunline's website is still functioning. They list the base MSRP for 2007 as $23,320. That should be close enough for your insurance company's request.

Thanks this will do, I might ask a local dealer who still has a few, although its an odd question for him I am sure..

I am thinking I will tell the insurance company that it was somewhere around 22K

If the rig is financed make sure you purchase the trailer replacement cost coverage, especially if it is financed long term 7-12 yrs. If it gets destroyed before it is paid off you could find yourself owing more to the bank than the insurance company will pay if their payment is based on actual book value at the time of the loss.
