Huge drama while camping!!!

Headed out with the Sunline to Lake St. Catherine for 5 day trip. The first night it rained. We put firewood and other things under the camper. We woke to a huge noise and lots of thrashing and stuff being knocked around. And then a HUGE SMELL. SKUNK !!!!! We could hardly breathe and didn't get much sleep after that.

Went out at daybreak to investigate and found hunks of long white hair all over. The stupid skunk got its tail caught in the stabilizer jack and must have thought something had 'hold of it and sprayed all over the wood and the jack. Man oh man that wood pile got burned up real quick !!

The rest of our camping was rather stinky, but thank goodness the inside of the camper did not smell after the first few hours.

Now that we are home we need to wash the jack to get rid of the stink.

Chuck and Terry, if it helps, they are just across from me.

Hint: The answer is in this thread.

I agree there, Sherlock. Skunks don't like wasting that precious juice. Leaves 'em defenseless for up to ten days if they unload a full 15cc discharge.
My wife had one wander under her recliner one afternoon. She didn't move and the skunk continued on his afternoon walk.

Same thing happened to us about three weeks ago in Caledonia SP here in PA. Ten at night, sitting outside enjoying a very nice evening, we hear what we thought was a bug crawling on our mat. Turns out it's "La Pew" right under the folding love seat on which we were sitting. We both stayed calm and he wandered off... but returned about an hour later altho' not as close.

About a week ago I was sitting in the house and I smelled skunk.
Didn't think much of it cause we live near woods and smell skunk often. WELL I opened the trailer to get it ready for an outing next week and it smells of skunk on the inside. No smell on outside only inside. Ive tore the inside apart and cant find the source??? O my.
