How Far?

Just wondering....

How far from home are your typical/usual camping destinations?

So far, we've gone around 250 miles (5 1/2 - 6 hours actual) a couple of times in our T-1350 - but usually our trips are 2 hours or less. Sometimes I feel like I haven't been keeping up with the "big dogs" very well.

Normally our trips or 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. Usually one long trip per year, two years ago 750 miles, last year 200 miles, this year 500 miles. My guess is your about normal in my opinion.

Often as far as 500 miles one way to my friends in QC Canada but once I'm there I usually stay at least a week. Some times I do this more than once in a year. I guess my shortest is about one mile when I go to the local camp ground to meet up with friends to kayak the Saco river. They come and stay with me and we do the river the next day good time out.

One place we go every year is 225 miles each way (5 hours with coffee stop) and we stay a week.

When we go to Bar Harbor for a week it is about 400 miles each way but we break it up with a overnight or 2 half way up and half way back. More places to try Lobster rolls.

Our closest is the Adk M&G which is 3 miles from our house to the campsite...we usually travel 200 - 300 miles when we are going away for a week at a time.

We fall into the "Weekend Warrior" camper group as of right now. This "will" change in the near future...

Our weekend excursions range from 20 minutes... to 1.5 hours one way on a Friday night.

There are times when we meet up with other campers and that may be a longer weekend camp and that may be 4 hours away one direction. And in some cases, 9 hours drive one direction on some past SOC M & G's.

For the last 6 years, we do an annual 18 day 1,500 mile round trip camping excursion. Camp to and from with several camp stops along the way. They are way too short... Need to fix that...

This year has been the least camped year since 2003 when we had our first PU and then later our first Sunline. The winter part of this year was total yuk, and when the weather broke we have just too much going on this year. I guess this means next year we need to double the camping to catch back up
