Homestead

Hi Gang!

Don't know if this has ever been discussed. Hoping to finally get rid of the sticks and bricks in the near future. Our new (to us) 2004 Sole' will become my "primary residence." Is it possible to "homestead" a travel trailer and has anyone ever done it?

Thanks.

"Coach Dave"

What do you mean homestead your trailer? You mean squat on private or Gov. property?

Wanda-Lust beat me to it - what exactly do you mean "homestead" ????

I thought I remembered reading previous posts that you traveled to different trade shows/fairs/etc. and would be in the south during the cold northeastern winter weather......

Are you asking if you can "full time" in it or put it on one particular spot and leave it there????

Nay, nay. Homestead is a legal act where your residence is protected in case of any action/lawsuit or being sued etc so they cannot take your house. I have my mobile which I own "homesteaded" but when I sell, the Sunline will basically become my residence and would like to protect it just in case. My GF has a condo which she has also homesteaded. If you have a home, it might be something to look into. You never know what might happen!

Thanks

Dave

Hey Poppy and Nana!

Different subject. Were in your "neck of the woods" at Tupper Lake couple weeks ago. We have two 10X10 ez up tents which we use at outdoor expos. Set up near the lake and from previous experience, I staked them down pretty well and reinforced with I bar. About 04PM, what I believe you folks call a "weather spike" came across the lake. Fortunately there were some nice people in the tent and we were all holding the tents down by hanging on the cross pieces. Everyone else lost their tents either completely, or were able to make repairs. Porta Johns toppled like dominoes! Had it not been for the nice people holding on, I could have lost everything! One of the bouys placed in the water for the swim portion of the triathlon ended up 75 yards away in the pavillion. Found out the next day that the wind speeds were clocked at 55-65MPH not to mention the rain. I am now cured about doing outside expos unless in a very large tent with strong sides!! Love the Adirondacks, but......

Dave
