Have you ever seen one?

When I wss a kid, my neighbor had a trailer, and a tricky spot to park it.

He'd back it in as far as he could, and then unhitch it. From there he'd get it turned and back into it's spot using a device on the A-Frame jack.

The device had two large round feet, and a bar between them. The jack sat on the the middle of that bar. On this bar were two recievers that could accept a handle (length of pipe). By pressing down or raising up on the handle and then moving forward or backward, 1 person could "walk" the trailer around.

Simple leverage.

I've looked but I can't find anything but a patent online for something that looks similar.

Have any of you seen one? Know what it is or called?

The trailer was a Prowler as I recall...

Harbor Freight sells a tow dolly, which has a 2" ball (I think) which sounds like what you are describing. It's on sale now if I recall, but it only has a 600 pound capacity. I imagine it would be great for a smaller TT or popup, but I don't think physically I could move around a bigger TT with something like this.

DF5.4 is an unknown quantity at this point
I've seen those and powered ones. I just did a Google search of power trailer movers and there are a bunch of them.

The powered trailer movers are supposed to be able to handle just about any size TT. At least that's what they claim.

Ok, everything you guys are talking about have wheels, and I've seen them.

This thing however did NOT have wheels...

Here's the patent http://www.freepatentsonline.com/4431208.pdf

(4) in the diagrams shows how you walk a trailer with it. It would be hell for a large trailer yes, but for a small on it works fine and doesn't have the risk that it could roll away on you...

And of course a picture:

The motorized ones I found online are above the $600 range.
