Good deal at auction

Hate to see another dealer go out of business, but got some good deals. Needed to buy a new hitch as our tongue weight has exceeded our current hitch. Got a new Equal-i-zer 12,000/1,200 lb hitch for $155. Could have got it for $20 if another dealer wouldn't have started bidding against me. They were outbidding everyone because they wanted all the hitch equipment, but I was determined to get it. Got a center awning rafter with awning support for $5. We already have one but one of the plastic knobs broke and it's $10 just for the knob. Then I took a chance and bid $10 on a new Reese Titan class V hitch. All I knew was it was for a Ford Super Duty truck. When I got home I looked up the model # and it's for a cab/chassis truck. Oh well, I'll just put it up for sale cheap and still make some money on it. My brother in law needed a new awning and ended up with 3 complete awning systems for $80. Missed out on the new Western snow plow for $200 and someone got a good deal on a newer F-350 w/V-10 for $5,500

Good for you Mike,
Was that Dewalts??? If so that is really an amazing riches to rags story. Just shows how financing a huge inventory in a down market can cost you big time.

Yes Jay it was Dewalt's. I couldn't believe how much stuff they had. I don't think they knew how much stuff they had But when you're in business for 43 years you accumulate a lot. They had 3 auctioneers going at the same time, so it made things hard if you wanted stuff from different areas. I'm going to miss their service department. They always did first class work. Now I'm going to have to find another dealer that I can trust to work on the coach if needed.

Mike

Good find on your WD hitch. WOW

The Ford truck reciever, it "might" still work. See here for the actual one on my F350. http://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/ph...pic.php?t=1573

Your F250 I do belive uses the same frame as mine. When you get it, do a comparision.

Good luck

John

I think he got an 18',19',20' I think he needs the 18' for his TT and he mentioned putting one of them on his race car trailer. When he returns from NY, I'll ask him.
