Garbage in forum

I was dissappointed to see that at least one idiot has found our forum....
and I would hope the administrator/moderator takes a good look at the multiple garbage entries SunlineFanx2 has put in the forum this AM .....and takes appropriate action.

I agree, it needs to be taken care of ASAP.

For everyone's info, THERE IS ONLY ONE SUNLINE FAN!

Hi Everyone,

I am the official Sunline Fan, unless anyone can challenge me . I don't think SunlineFanx2 knows anything compared to what I know.

Thanks! It's a pleasure. It's relieving to know that my reputation hasn't been ruined.

Is it just me or does the members list contain quite a few odd sounding characters in it? Deb

Jon,
Your integrity was never in danger, we all knew an imposter when we saw him. And we are sure glad he's GONE!!! We all knew he was a jerk right off the bat by using a log in name so close to yours, he really "WAS" hoping to be confused with you, but we all knew who was the real "SunlineFan" is.

Deb,

The memberlist does contain some interesting names. I think my favorite is "SMarioPoop", from UAE. Unless his name is Mario, had a confrontation with his Black tank, and can't spell USA, then there is no reason why that name is appropriate.

They are commonly called "trolls" in the world of the internet. Troll = to a person that creates a name to cause trouble on the forums, or lure members of the sites into on-line fights. They are a pain to deal with but they are part of the lovely world called the internet, honestly I wish they would just get a life or a hobby other than bothering folks that are just enoying their hobbies.

I mod or admin four off-road/Jeep sites, two of which are large national sites, which trolls seem to enjoy trolling around.

The best thing you can do with one is delete their posts, ban the name, and make a running list, of the IPs. Sometimes banning the IP on the first post is a hard call to make, but if they are posting porn and other nastys then it is called for in my opinion. But becareful some times, new members of a site or the folks that are newer to the internet may ask questions that seem like they are coming from a troll but they are really just asking for help since they don't know but about how things work.

JohnB is on a distinguished road
Jon

Your honor was never in question. Those of us you have been here since the beginning, or close to the beggining, know who you are. Which by the way the beggining was not that long ago.

How you pull out all that neat stuff, is simply amazing. Your da man!!!

Our neat site here is now getting more popular. We have a lot of good new camper folks. I was going to make a post about when we hit 500 members that was a big deal, but I was traveling last week for work and darn, where past it allready....

The bigger and more popular we get, the more I'm sure we will run into the nastys of the internet. Just like the other forums some of us are on. The best we can do, is tell Sarah as quick as we can to all be on camper watch.

This is a camper watch community and a great bunch of folks we have here. Nasty's, stay out. We are on the lookout for you.

Happy camping

John

ALSO! PLEASE REMEMBER... the bigger and better we get, the more expensive it gets for our lovely host, Sarah! (more info= higher fees). So lets all either buy stuff we don't need from the club store, or just donate!
