Flying Manta Rays in Baja

Ok everyone, sorry I havent been able to answer or comment on the forum for so long, Cindy and I are in Baja Mexico right now and an internet connection is something of a joke down here!

We've been having the time of our lives, and I would recommend this trip for anyone who loves warm weather, beautiful beaches and wonderful people. Dont believe anything you hear in the States about kidnappings and banditos, we've yet to have even one person be rude or even give us a dirty look.

This is also from two people who speak no Spanish, and have a huge American flag on the side of their camper

I've been trying to keep up on the forums, but most of the connections are so slow that it's almost impossible to reply. We're camped for the next few days at a great place in Los Berriles that has a lightening fast signal (Amazing) so I thought I'd post some photos of a once in a lifetime sight we saw yesterday!

When we checked into this campground - East Cape RV Resort - the American owners were telling us about their local manta ray population and how it is know for jumping out of the water!

We head down to the beach, only a block away and the owners husband asks us if we want to go out in his dinghy into the middle of the school of rays! Heck Yeah!

This was one of those things that I'll never forget and it was hard to take pictures with my jaw this far dropped! It was like nothing I've ever seen!

Thank you Canon for making lenses that can focus so fast and motors in our camera bodies that can keep up with a fish jumping out of the water at speeds that are hard to comprehend!

Gallery can be seen here http://everymilesamemory.smugmug.com...38614985_3yeEP

I hope everyone is doing great up North, and the 2499 is handling the awful Mexican roads like a piece of cake. That is the only thing that has lived up to the horror stories we were warned about. The roads are as bad as everyone talks them up to be.

Take care, and happy camping

Pat & Cindy

Pat,
As always just amazing shots. I am sure if JoLynne saw that flying by our boat, she would be on shore as fast as she could run on water.

Thanks everyone. I enjoy looking at those images every time I can, it was just amazing.

Jay, I think Joylynne would have been just as awe struck as us after the first couple jumped right beside her.

Hutch, thanks for the warm reguards, we're lovin it down here.

We've yet to see another Sunline in Mexico, but we did see one in Arizona right on the border
