Fast Friends Greyhound Rescue

OK, I don't usually forward things, etc., BUT I am this time as it is for a VERY worthy cause.

I was so VERY fortunate to come in contact with Hettie Ballweber at a Petsmart, where she was doing a Greyhound Meet n Greet, she was there with a very sad looking young greyhound, that had several "cases of ugly", and Hettie thought that she might never find a forever home. Now as many of you know I adopted a rescued greyhound, now known as "KD", she was that poor "ugly hound" . I got her from Fast Friends Greyhound Rescue, Inc. a non=profit group established and run by Hettie & Bill Ballweber. They started this rescue group approx. 3 years ago with the hopes of finding forever homes for 12 greyhounds per year. These wonderful people do such a greyt job promoting/educating people about greyhounds that they have placed almost 300 hounds in their "Forever Homes" in that 3 year time period. Without Hettie & Bill the fate of these lucky hounds are something that you really don't want to think or know about.

KD and Fast Freinds have brought such enjoyment into my life. I am VERY active with the group promoting greyhound adoption, doing meet n greets, and whatever else I can to let people know about these wonderful hounds that are more like an over grown "house cat" than a dog.

All I can say is WOW, thank you all so very much. I see where many of you have cast a vote for my rescue group. I was hesitent about asking this favor, but you guys are great. Hopefully my rescue group will be fortunate enough to win.

Go ahead and count my vote. One of our dogs, Marley the Jack Russel, is a shelter rescue. So this cause is near and dear to our hearts. Always remember what Bob Barker said at the end of every Price is Right, "Remember folks, please have your pets spayed and neutered."
