Cutting board for kitchen sink

My Sunny never came with a nice fitting sink cover/cutting board in the kitchen. Not sure if anyone else got one as an option maybe. But we need one and would like to know what others have found. I think the generic ones may work, but not necessarily fit as nice as they should. That's an opinion of course and one may be suitable, but I'll toss the question out here for replies and suggestions if possible.

Thank You!

Our '99 came with the cutting board. It fit nicely over 1/2 of the double sink, but was a bit of a disappointment as it warped over the years.

It is made out of laminated wood, rectangular in shape with rounded corners. It has little rubber feet screwed to the underside, one in each corner that will hold it in place over the sink.

A number of folks have made their own by cutting down a store bought one, and then adding the rubber feet in the corners. The rubber feet are available at any hardware or home improvement kind of store.

There are also a number of plastic cutting boards available that could be cut down, too.

If I were to replace the one we have, I'd probably make up one that would fit over both sinks which would improve the amount of available counter space. My personal preference would be the nylon type.

I really think this is one of those situations that can be solved with a little creativity and ingenuity.

Steve made one out of wood. There are 4 nylon buttons, one on each corner, to hold it in place. (the nail in type that you put on the bottom of chair legs to keep the floor from getting scratched) At first he had made it to cover both sinks, but alot of times I'll want to get water but still have some extra counter space, so he cut it in half.

My T-1950 came with a rather sturdy and tight fitting nylon cutting board over one sink. I don't imagine there are very many different sized sinks so you might contact someone like PPL RV parts with the measurements.

I used a piece of an oversized bread board my wife use to use when she was baking bread. Cut it to the right size, smoothed it off everywhere, and put rubber feet on each corner. She took a look and gave it her seal of approval...the end of that problem.

I love making cutting boards. My best one is a hard maple Sea Turtle I made for my Daughter last Christmas. She won't use it. Hmmm, a TT shaped one would be easy.

My wife went down to the countertop shop and had some made to size from that fake granite stuff, (Corian?).
Then she glued some rubber drawer liner material to the bottom of the one that sits on the stovetop cover. It sticks quite nicely even while traveling over hard roads.
As for the sink, she suggested that I attach a rubber ridge around the board to match the inner edge of the sink. It too stays nicely.
