Bear warning sign...

I thought about this when emam brought up the dream cooler I've been wanting to buy for a long time... The Yeti.

Take care,
Lode

Bells

On our trip to Alaska our teenage grand kids stayed with us for three weeks. Hiking with them was an adventure, typically racing ahead of us. Ginny was very worried about the bears; there's plenty of them and trail head signs frequently mention the daily sightings. As a percaution Ginny had bells on her walking stick.

The first night at a ranger talk one of the grandkids asked the ranger about bells. He said they're good if they're used occasionally like on corners and blind spots. If you use them continously the bears can get curious and seek out the bells.

We do carry bear spray while in Alaska a couple of people used spray to escape touchy situations.

In Denali we saw 18 Grizzleys. We camped at the 30 mile in campground and no soft sided campers or tents were allowed.

Safe hiking to all,

Norm and Ginny Milliard

First time I heard that joke was at the Harrisburg (now Hershey) RV show. We went to a presentation on RV'ing in Alaska and the moderator got a big laugh with it
