2499 fresh water tank

Looking around our "new" 2007 2499, I noticed that they mounted the fresh water tank below the floor, between the frame rails. That's different from our 92 2470 which had it mounted in the cabinet below the sink and stove. Now, that would allow more room inside the trailer, (although I'm still amazed at the amount of storage space they packed into that 2470), but when we go camping in the colder months (went out in December last year), I'm concerned that the water in the tank may begin to freeze. Or, at least the water in the line might. Anyone have experience with this?
Thanks,
Rich

You might be able to try the heating wires used on household piping, attaching them to the underside of the tank and wrapping the line. Only will work on shore power though. I know some rvs have a "cold weather package" with tank heaters, but have never researched what that included.

Rich

We ordered our 276SR with tank heaters (all three are underneath the floor) from the factory. They work great! We've had ours out over night around zero at night with forties in the days and had no issues. Just remember to fill the heated fresh tank and use it for overnight needs and disconnect and drain to your hose.

There are aftermarket ones available and I would strongly recommend them if you're looking to camp into Dec. Basically they are stick on pads with a heater grid in them. I'd have to look again, but I believe ours are 12v.
