Question 2004 2199

I have looked at this T-1950 I offered $7,500 but they are stuck on $8,400.Asking price is $8,999
I was thinking of calling back tomorrow and offering $8,000 final price but...

I came across this 2004 T-2199 for $6,995
It looks nice and I love the Fiberglass exterior.

The only problem is that's its also 600 miles away from me and that's an awfully long way to go to check out a rig

Does anyone here have a 2199? Anyone here live remotely close to this dealer or know anything about them?

Wow!! Assuming there's no major blistering in the fiberglass, that is one beautiful coach! It sure was optioned out when new.

There's enough people in that area that I'm sure you'll have someone offer to check it out for you. It's that time of year for winterizing, so people might need to visit dealers anyway, so they won't be making too much of a special trip.

Diane and Marshall (username Diane) traded their 1950 in there a few months ago. I believe they got their North Trail there, but I don't remember. I'm sure she could tell you a lot about them, as I think they are close by.

I went out to Central Jersey to get mine... I can't believe it will be three years this coming May!

Sorry, I had to edit with her username. I thought it was Diane but I wanted to make sure. I would just send her a private message.

I've PM'ed both Joan and Jon that Marshall will be glad to look at the 2199 but wanted to post here in case the PM's don't work. From the pictures, it looks like a very nice unit.

WOW, the "local" resident Sunline Ispectors are right on the ball today. That 2199 will be inspected very well.

Both trailers have a corner bed, same bath layout. The big difference I see is the 2199 has 2 chairs where the 1950 has the jack-knife sofa and a place for chair.

I love the fiberglass on the 2199, but I like the chair/sofa setup. So, if the 2199 gets the seal of approval, you WILL have a difficult decision to make even with the little difference in the two floor plans.

If you should choose the 2199, I bet you could find a nice love seat to put in it should you desire a cough/chair setup. If you are couch people, you could probably even remove both chairs and just put a small sofa across the rear in place of the chairs.

Decisions, decisions, decisions, it's all about decisions

Keep us posted on what you find out/decide.

The things I like better about the 2199...I actually like the 2 chairs The 2199 has the big back window view, and just more window space in general. I also thought the corner bed looked less confining in the 2199. I like my bathroom sink IN the bathroom like it is in the 2199. Having had both aluminum siding and filon siding I can say for sure that the filon is ALOT easier to clean. And look at all that kitchen counter space!

It looks like a nice rig. If you do decide to contact them, ask for Art. He was our salesman when we bought our Sunny and moved to Leo's when that dealership went under. He's a pretty straight shooter.

Be advised they do have some other sales people that are very difficult to work with, who will tell you ANYTHING to make a sale. Don't get me wrong, I have bought parts from them, had repairs done, and feel they are a pretty good dealer, just had issues with some of the sales staff.

It seems like all dealerships have some problem sales people. The salesman for the T-1950 was pretty bad the opposite way. He didn't seem that interested in me as a customer at all!

Thanks because you have given me some things I didn't consider....because I was looking at floor plan and I think I like the floor plan of the T-1950 a little better becasue I like having the jack-knife as an extra bed and I like the bathroom vanity outside the bath because I can fix hair, makeup etc without any shower humidity However I like the Fiberglass and I like windows and the certainly more counter space in the 2199.

As far as the chairs, they aren't bolted down so I could just remove one if I wanted more space, correct?

I know! It was great of them to do that for me. I do like the jack-knife sofa better and the vanity outside the bathroom so I can fix hair and such without shower humidity but much prefer the Fiberglass exterior.

The couch idea is a good one......One of the factors in decision is the price IF the 2199 checks out...its $2,000 cheaper than the T-1950 in MI

Hmmm should I be suspicious that its priced low?

sunline 2199 2004

I went to Leo's during lunch to take a look at it. Our salesman, John Foster showed me the coach. It looks like it was kept in a garage. Leo's has had it for 2 weeks and they do not clean the trailers up until they are sold. Inside is also spotless. No evidence of problems with the gel coat. The decals looked like new with no fading. No leak spots on the ceilings. Clean as a whistle inside and out. The trailer is being sold as. John asked another sales person if he knew why and he replied that when the coach was one year old there was a problem with the floor under the refrigerator and it was repaired.

I have pictures from my phone that I can send later but I am not sure how much the will add to the photos already on Leo's site.

I know the 1950 has a 54" double bed. Is the 2199 a queen? Just curious. Tried the "files" section but couldn't come up with the printed floorplan.

The bed is actually a double bed that is a walk around. I was pretty impressed when I saw the coach. It's very comfortable looking and clean as can be.

Question

I was wondering if why it was priced so low..now I know, "as is" condition. I am leery of purchasing something that already has went through a major repair, especially since its not that old.

With the frig, was it a leak that ruined the floor? Did they have an accident with the trailer? It appers to be taken care of so then what could cause the floor problem and who repaired it? The dealer or Sunline?

It could be perfectly fine but sold "as is" you have no recourse whatsoever

What do you say Sunline Owners?

Joan....we purchased our new 2007 Sunline AFTER the plant closed, we didn't give it a second thought. As far as the refrigerator - it could be as simple as the drain hose did not go to the outside but into the refrigerator "cubby"......I have to watch this on our 2499 as the hose is short.

The other thing you have to remember is you are buying a 2004 trailer and this one "looks" mighty clean!!!! I am sure Marshall will look it over real good if that was the direction you wanted to go.

As far as the bathroom sink outside the bathroom...you have a good point BUT if it is only you (I think I remember reading that)....close the blinds and leave the door open, or make sure you have the vent/fan ON, I really don't have a problem with the shower humidity as I (we) take navy showers and never leave the water running any great length of time (fills the grey tank real fast taking a "normal" shower).

The chairs are nice and that back window is wonderful.....however you could always put a couch in place of the chairs and no they are not bolted down.

Good luck in whatever you decided BUT that 2199 is a might pretty looking trailer.

PS: I am in no way connected with the selling of the trailer!
