OK a few more hints....

I'll repeat this one

V. The answer to the 2nd manufacture for question 1 can be found in the prior hints or replies made by forum members. Meaning contained within the 2 pages of this post some one actually talked about the 2nd manufacture but never connected the dots.

W. The decal stickers for this manufacture are often times white background with a light purple lettering. At least on the ones I have seen.

X. Parts from the 2nd manufacture are often interchanged with parts from the 1st manufacture. But then again people mix parts all the time.

OK I threw another log on the fire...

Draw Tite has the white and purple stickers, or mine do anyway. And I'm personally guilty of mixing the Reese and Draw Tite parts... Cequent has their website so plain that it doesn't show history for any of their divisions. The only Sunline I see on their site is the same '03 267SR used on the Reese video.

Pullrite also has a link and text about Sunline on their links page. I don't recall it mentioned anywhere in this thread though.

PullRite has a SAFER, STRONGER, BETTER designed hitch for you

It's on their website currently, but it obviously hasn't been updated in a while since the blurb would have been from about 2002.

Yeh!!!!!!!! You got it...I think... Which is good as I was quickly running out of fire wood to keep this camp fire burning with more hints.

Yes, the 2nd manufacture is Draw-Tite. They are in the Cequent group of companies

If you go to the Draw-Tite website, then on products, WD hitches this video comes up.

Weight Distribution - Draw-Tite - Custom Trailer Hitch Products and Hitch Accessories

And yes it is the same video as Clueless Camper found on the Reese web site. But Draw-Tite is a separate division.

And then there is Sunline fan who I know has Draw-Tite branded WD bars on the Reese hitch. In this case other then the sticker those WD bars may have come out of the Reese plant.

While Draw-Tite still has some of it's own unique products that they use to make, the Cequent influence is upon them they are integrated now with the Reese line when parts fit.

And Sunline Fan holds true to his name. He found another manufacture using Sunline on their web site! I have been all over the Pull-Rite web site as I was considering one once and some how I missed that or forgot. So he racks up another point for finding Sunline still in use on a manufactures web site out side the ones I had. Nothing like gaining more points in Bonus rounds then the original game....

By the way, I never looked at the Cequent web site. There seem to be 2. Jon which one where you talking about?

Cequent Website - A TriMas Company

Cequent Towing Products

Then Clueless Camper comes in with one of the best Reese videos I have ever seen on the Reese DC in use on E Trailer no less. Even the Reese site does not have one that good.... Odd as heck but true. So since E Trailer some how private labeled that Video she get's a bonus point as E Trailer is a different vendor using a Sunline. I do know the Reese Tow Beast receiver I bought from them has the E Trailer logo on it right after the Reese. They must have some kind of marketing agreement with them.

So now to recap the score:

Sunline Fan with 10.5 points. And a majority of them from Bonus points...

Clueless Camper with 3 points.

264SRinPA with 1 point.

Kitty with 1 point.

Pretty good I must say. The original contest only had the ability to gain 6 points and the Sunline Owners Club members created 16.5 points....

I take it we are really happy with our Sunlines

Thanks everyone for playing. It has been fun. Must of been as this post has 314 hits on it as of 12/30/10 9:29PM EST

John

In case some where wonder what the hints answers where

P. The 2nd manufacture for question 1 is “not” Reese. That’s right it is Draw-Tite

Q. You really do not want to go camping without the product of the 2nd manufacture. You need a hitch to go camping with.

R. The color of the product of the 2nd manufacture is primarily black. Draw-Tite hitches are black.

S. The 2nd manufacture for question 1 was started in 1946 by an inventor with the first name of Bill. So they have been around a while. Bill Whichello invented the Draw-Tite back in 1964 which was a clothes line tightener… About Us - Draw-Tite - Custom Trailer Hitch Products and Hitch Accessories

T. Like many things in the RV industry today the 2nd manufacture for question 1 was bought up by a larger company and has many brands. However the same brand name that Bill used back in 1946 is still used today. Draw-Tite is part of Cequent now.

U. There are forum members here on SOC that own parts of these fine products of the 2nd manufacture for question 1. Sunline Fan is one member who has Draw-Tite parts on his hitch

V. The answer to the 2nd manufacture for question 1 can be found in the prior hints or replies made by forum members. Sunline Fan said: " I don't have any pictures either and don't ever recall looking at it in super detail, but given where they bought it and at the time they did, there's a good chance it's a Robin hitch. We carried both those and the Draw-Tite."

V. The answer to the 2nd manufacture for question 1 can be found in the prior hints or replies made by forum members. Meaning contained within the 2 pages of this post some one actually talked about the 2nd manufacture but never connected the dots. All the clues for the Reese hitch also fit for Draw-Tite. It was a WD hitch we where after.

W. The decal stickers for this manufacture are often times white background with a light purple lettering. At least on the ones I have seen. This is the Draw-Tite color scheme.

X. Parts from the 2nd manufacture are often interchanged with parts from the 1st manufacture. But then again people mix parts all the time. Yes Draw-Tite and Reese parts are often used together. Especially the DC. That was a Reese patent but not can be offer on a Draw-Tite product as Cequent owns both. Draw-Tite dealers sell the Reese DC

John,

This is the one I was looking at:
Weight Distribution - Draw-Tite - Custom Trailer Hitch Products and Hitch Accessories

I just referred to it as the Cequent site because they operate it and it really isn't special to Draw-tite. Click on the other brands up top and they are virtually a clone of the other sites. I meant the actual brand site over some other resource that would contain a video or picture.

By the way, how did you find the About Us section? I don't see a link anywhere on there for it, but sure enough you found it somewhere.

On a side note, I finally found my '06 CW Master Catalog and it does have the picture of that add-a-porch stair thing in it. Now I'll just have to get it scanned for you. Unfortunately it looks like they don't sell the exact one or they changed their picture for the current year though.

You mean this one About Us - Draw-Tite - Custom Trailer Hitch Products and Hitch Accessories

Well, I found it on a web hit using Bing searching for Bill's last name. And I saw the URL was the Draw-Tite site so when firing it, it came right up on the Draw-tite site.

BUT, going into the site from the home page, the "About us" link I can't find it either.... It must be that they redid the front page of the web site and left the "About us" link out. The link still works and is on their server just can't get to it thru the front door...

Here's the page from the Camping World '06 Master Catalog. It's page 26, and it also appears in the front flyer thing at the very beginning of the catalog.

I know it doesn't show much, but I'm figuring it's a '90. It looks like I see the anniversary decal just next to the grab handle between the window and the door. It's hard to guess the exact model, I'm thinking a T-2551 or possibly a F-2150 or F-2950. It almost looks like it's sitting too close to the ground to be a fifth wheel though. I'm thinking 2551 because the window there looks like either a chair window or part of a dinette window, and to have the axles right there, that's the only one that looks like it would fit that.

A little bit of the picture did get cut off here, but not much. It just starts to show and edge of the door, so it doesn't help solve anything. It got cut off in the scanner when the other page got in the way a little.

Clueless Camper with 3 points.
